Bunraku - Yoru (2022)

Internet-based record label The Long Echo is proud to announce that Bunraku will be releasing his third full-length album titled Yoru.

Netherlands-based composer Joris Feiertag, better known as Bunraku, is the monarch of writing music for physical spaces. Most well-known for his celebrated Toshi album series which outline a stroll through numerous Japanese neighbourhoods; theme songs written for specific areas. Having garnered millions of plays worldwide and frequenting in a plethora of both
piano and electronica driven playlists, Bunraku finds himself in the perfect unison of the two.

This time however, Bunraku focuses on the nighttime.
Yoru is formulated to lead you through the hours of darkness, all the way towards the daybreak.

The resulting work is archetypal Bunraku with his signature brand of slow-moving, atmospheric piano and synth elements; Yoru is a worthy addition to his already rich catalogue of stunning ambient and neo-classical pieces.

Windswept and sprightly, Bunraku presents us with a perfectly curated list of 9 intelligent tracks; each inventive in their own right, but even more compelling when listened front-to-back.

Perfectly accompanying the shiny, yet subdued sounds, the puffy album art is a collaboration with visual artist Julien Mier.

With Yoru following the release of last year’s Toshi II, Bunraku continues the foray into the melancholic. The exploration into the nuance.
