Another curiosity from London's Death Is Not The End label, "Tragic Tiger's Sad Meltdown" is a lo-fi set of tape recorded sketches, musings and songs.
Heavenly’s overwhelming sense of loss and the reflection that surrounds it fills the skeletal songs on "Tragic Tiger's Sad Meltdown". It was recorded in Fremantle, a seaside town in Western Australia, shortly after Heavenly had relocated from London with her ex-boyfriend Nicholas Allbrook of Aussie psych-rock band Pond. The songs are recordings of rehearsals, spliced together like a diary to give a sense of time, place, and context. And while Heavenly is the main presence on the album, there are also appearances from San Cisco's Scarlett Stevens, India Rose, Jacob Diamond and Allbrook.
"Most of the songs are about my sister Peaches and singing them aloud felt very potent but my band always made me feel held." She released the tracks on her own Bandcamp page in 2020, but they feel at home on tape, honoring the way they were recorded.
