Both the organ and the drums are instruments that impress with their abilities and power of sound, at the same time having many colors, textures and shades. Patmos album. Music for organ & percussion is the first recording of this type of music on the Polish phonographic market!

Works for organ and percussion are not often performed in Poland, which was for the artists - Bartosz Jakubczak (organ) and Miłosz Pękala (drums) - an additional motivation to create a project that would show four different musical ideas for such instruments. In addition, the CD includes the song Letter from faraway island for organ and percussion (2018) by Aleksandra Chmielewska. The theme of the island of Patmos in Chmielewska's composition refers to the song Landscapes of Patmos by Petr Eben, hence the title of the album. The works of Thierry Escaich Ground II and Marek Jasiński Psalmodia (world phonographic premiere) are a creative supplement to the concept of the album's repertoire.

“The colors of the sounds provided by the organ and percussion instruments have become a stimulus to search for musical literature dedicated to this performance cast. The combination of the colors of the aforementioned instruments gave me a fascination with this type of music, says Bartosz Jakubczak. ".
The album is the first recording of this type of music on the Polish phonographic market. At this point, I would like to thank the great musician and co-performer Miłosz Pękala, without whom this recording would not have been made, and also to Aleksandra Chmielewska, who composed the piece with the idea of recording this album in mind. I also thank my wife Agata for her constant love and support. Patmos album. Music for organ & percussion is another beautiful example among the records of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music publishing house - Chopin University Press, of how great musical friendships can be. In the case of Patmos. Music for organ & percussion is an extremely diverse conglomerate of 20th-century and contemporary compositions in a daring performance of an unusual, organ-percussion duo.
