Great album by newcomer Anna Aaron. The Swiss explores the depths of the soul between folk and indie rock - mysterious and sometimes dark, but always immensely captivating.
A voice you won't soon forget. The 26-year-old Basel singer Anna Aaron has the extraordinary gift of sending waves of emotions out to her listeners. Even their quietest ballads exuded harshness, violence. Her glowing timbre always stands out from the piano sounds, which sometimes try to put out the fire, sometimes add fuel. Two years after "I'll Dry Your Tears Little Murderer" Anna Aaron delivers a new, first album. "Dogs In Spirit" testifies to stormy rock that constantly oscillates between obsessions, unreasonableness, gentle madness and deceptive dreams. Between mid-tempo folk rock, lively rock and extremely melodic pop rock, horror visions flare up next to messages of hope, hell opens up, immediately afterwards the furtive respite calls. Thanks to the help of Marcello Giuliani, who knew how to give the recording its size and breadth, Anna Aaron has found her own purebred fullness.
