Kieran O'Connell // bodhran, guitar, vocal
Kieran O'Connell is an up & coming singer songwriter from Miltown Malbay in County Clare. He writes from the heart, mixing his love for Irish ballads to rocking country music. His songs are personal and uncompromising.
Jon O’Connell // double bass, guitar, vocal
Jon O'Connell is a musician who has been active on the Irish music scene for more than twenty years. From Miltown Malbay in Clare, Jon is still based in this area, where the traditions of Irish music are strong and music sessions are commonplace.
Jon's first instrument is bass guitar; with The Fiddle Case he plays double bass, guitar and sings songs. Over his career as a musician Jon has gigged, written and recorded with many
different musicians and in many different genres, including The Walls, Luka Bloom, Ultan Conlon, Mundy. There have been many highlights including touring as support with Crowded House in Australia and supporting Bob Dylan in Galway, as well as a US tour and a couple of jaunts to Russia.
Adam Shapiro // fiddle, percussion, vocal
Adam Shapiro originally hails from Cape Town in South Africa. He began playing the violin at age 7. He started playing Irish music in 1994 after stumbling across the only session in Cape Town. He first came to Ireland in 1998 to learn and gather tunes and attend festivals and classes.
After visiting Ireland for a couple of years, he decided to move full-time to Ireland and settled in Doolin. Adam plays at sessions all around Clare and Ireland. He released an album, “Cape to Clare” with his brother Dave Shapiro and local musicians in 2005, and since has recorded on many albums including Luka Bloom's latest record. He has also plays with Clare band Los Paddys De Las Pampas.
Eoin O'Neill // bouzouki
Eoin's bouzouki is the sound foundation on which the sound of The Fiddle Case is carried. Eoin has lived in Clare for the past 30 years and has been an integral part of the traditional music landscape in the county.
He is famous for his informal music sessions and classes in many venues throughout the county.
Apart from The Fiddle Case, he is a driving force behind a number of bands including The Céili Bandits and Crag Road and has played with the likes of Sharon Shannon, Mary Custy, Terry Bingham, Martin Hayes, Christy Moore, Conor Byrne, Luka Bloom and many others. Also, as an archivist, his passion for his craft has led him to preserve music that was in danger of being lost forever, and his field recordings are now being enjoyed and re-invented by a new generation of musicians.
Eoin is a host on Clare FM's West Wind traditional music program and also hosts his own popular Sunday morning show.
