LOVE APE was formed in 2019 as a new alias for Moiety. A Dutch DJ/producer based in Amsterdam (NL).
During his travels and walks in nature he was inspired by the calming effect nature can have on the human mind. He felt music can have this same effect and this translated into a new music production style that was more leaned towards the listener than the club.
The sound can be described as warm, organic and full of ambience.
A mixture of house, dub techno, balearic, broken beats, trip hop and ambient.
The debut album “ZEN” will be released on the 10th of May of 2021 on Rugged Society Records.
Although the tracks may be in very different styles, they were all made in a deeply focussed and almost meditative state. This inspired the name “ZEN” which is a practice in meditation which creates the same state of mind.
The album consists of 10 tracks that were all created in different times, but naturally came together when APE created its debut album in 2020. Right in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
