A new generation of modern St. Petersburg jazz is the trio of pianist Mikhail Maryshev.
Mikhail Maryshev studied with the People's Artist of Russia D. Goloshchekin. At the age of 24, he managed to collaborate with Zhenya Strigalev, Kirill Bubyakin, Sasha Mashin, Joe Farnsworth, Soweto Kinch, Makar Kashitsyn, Jesse Davis and Jamie Murrray.
Maryshev's performing style is particularly expressive: brilliant piano technique, deep knowledge of the academic school and a subtle sense of jazz harmony.
The live album was recorded on September 6, 2021 at the oldest St. Petersburg jazz club JFC as part of the Rainy Hot Culture Jazz Days festival
Together with Mikhail Maryshev, double-bass player Nikolai Zatolochny and drummer Artyom Teklyuk took part in the recording.
