Geoffrey Fiorese - Terpsichore (2022) Hi Res

Leading pianist and composer Geoffrey Fiorese decided to build his Quartet project around Greek mythology, and more particularly the story of "Terpsichore", the muse of dance. The close relationship between music and dance invites us to receive a sound, a melody, not by simple listening, but through the prism of a global perception, where the whole body serves as a receptacle for sound harmony. Also called "trance", this spiritual journey will be led by Geoffrey Fiorese's quartet named "Terpsichore". A large part of improvisation is left to the musicians who are thus able to react at the time to an impulse, a feeling, like an imaginary dance that one would build as the impressions left by the senses. This project thus invites you to live the music, to feel it to the depths of your being and leads the spectator to go through a unique experience. Between long meditative musical poems and improvised flights bordering on free jazz, this project goes beyond the borders of jazz and thus gradually brings the listener to unknown territories where listening results in self-forgetfulness.
