This disc presents a comprehensive programme of Elgar's music for solo piano, including unpublished and little-known original works together with the composer's own arrangements for piano of five orchestral pieces, including Dream Children and Carissima. Peter Pettinger performs the works in chronological order which makes fascinating listening, allowing us to appreciate the gradual development and maturing of Elgar's characteristic style, and they are all played with equal dedication and musicality. This is a mid price re-issue.
