Peter Hammill - The Storm (Before The Calm) (1993)

Peter Joseph Andrew Hammill (born 5 November 1948) is an English singer-songwriter. He is a founder member of the progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. Best known as a singer/songwriter, he also plays guitar and piano and acts as a record producer for his own recordings and occasionally for other artists. In 2012, he was recognised with the Visionary award at the first Progressive Music Awards.

This collection of compositions by Peter Hammill is recommended for those who are more "focused" on the work of the 70s. The compilation includes wonderful lyric songs from the albums "pH7" '79, "Sitting Targets" '81, "Skin" '86, remixed versions from "Love Songs" '84. These albums as a whole are not of much interest, which cannot be said about the individual songs that have been successfully selected on this CD.
