The Dutch Swing College Band, the Netherlands' leading and best-known jazz orchestra, still guarantees professional performances of traditional jazz music at a world level. The swinging orchestra, founded on May 5, 1945, with its exemplary function, is widely regarded as the calling card of Dutch Jazz. Last year the Dutch Swing College Band went on a world tour for the umpteenth time; via England, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland it went back to the Netherlands to give a number of concerts in Thailand. The festive 75th anniversary program consists of a selection of musical highlights from the rich history of the Dutch Swing College Band. Refreshing arrangements in the unmistakable Dutch Swing College sound are played by a rejuvenated orchestra, energetic as never before.
