“Bach Vibrations” is a set of improvisations around the 15 two-part inventions of J S Bach. The idea for this project came from Gidon Kremer who suggested that it would be interesting if each invention could be recreated in a different style to represent the personal performance characteristics of many famous jazz pianists and in doing so also maintain the understanding of Bach’s original score. The styles are those of such jazz greats as Oscar Petersen, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck and Jacques Loussier.
