Mad Fred & the Maniacs is a 4-piece rockabilly outfit from the south area of the Netherlands. They started out in 1997 and with their greasy slapping bass, snearing lead lead guitar instros and authentic vocals, they can deliver you a night "back to the fifties". The band plays good sounding rockabilly music, based on classics such as Long Blond Hair - Go Go Go - Down The Line - Her Love Rubbed Off and many others, and they already put many national and international stage a blaze, they performed at the Cruise Inn and Maloe melo (Amsterdam), Caddy's Diner (Purmerend), Twister (Germany) and Tiki's (Belgium). With their show and special style the band is capable of capturing their audience time and time again. Members of the group originate from Kessenich (Belgium), Venlo and Roermond (Netherlands).
In May 2001 Mad Fred issued their first CD-EP titled "So Blue". The well known British rock 'n' roll magazine "Now Dig This" stated: "An impressive fourtracker, a romping rockabilly delight" and the Dutch mag "Boppin' Around" wrote: "A must for every rockabilly fan".
