The recording of the third book of madrigals by Biagio Pesciolini from Prato is the result of research begun in 2015 on the person of this composer. It turned out that until today not a single work by him has been published in modern notation. So the project began with a source study and the transcription of the third book of his madrigals, the only one that has survived in its entirety to this day. After a careful analysis of the work, it was possible to bring back to life this lost music, which proved to be very rich in nuances, contrasts and colours. Thus, a lost piece of the musical history of the city of Prato and of the Medici court of the time has finally been put back in its place. Elia Orlando conducts the Tuscæ Voces ensemble, which works with period instruments.
