Florry - Big Fall (2021)

Three years ago, Florry was seen as the group to watch very closely. The Philadelphia-native sextet went off the beaten track with their debut album released in 2018 which earned them some fame on the American folk scene. After a handful of releases in that span of time, it was time for the band to make their comeback with their successor titled Big Fall.

Sheridan Frances ‘Francie’ Medosch and his band re-emerge with their cosmic folk tinged with alien and inventive Americana worthy of Jeff Tweedy and Will Oldham on this lively second album. It gets along perfectly on "You Don't Know" which opens the ball showing that Florry has a sacred ambition before moving on to the cosmic "Driving", "Jane" and the honky-tonk flavors of "Say Your Prayers" turning us upside down

Big Fall is a hell of a melting pot of influences and aural sensations. Flirting as well with the cozy with "Older Girlfriend" and "Animals" and the rhythmic with the incongruous "Dream Diary / Growth", Florry leaves no one indifferent as cosmic America will take us far afield. All it takes is a "Lovely" as the finale for the Philadelphia sextet to think outside the box.
