'There are only two major events in a person's life: love and death. Everything else is a derivation from them.' Eva and Peter Michael Lingens devote themselves to conveying these existential moods with a mixture of texts and music. Exquisite poems and short texts by the authors Rainer Maria Rilke, Peter Turrini and Peter Michael Lingens are framed by nocturnes, impromptus and waltzes by Frédéric Chopin and Franz Schubert, works by Franz Liszt, the Rhapsody in G minor by Johannes Brahms and the Sonata op. 1 by Alban Berg. Dreams of Love - Premonitions of Death is a journey of intense emotions with a conciliatory ending.
Peter Michael Lingens is a journalist and publisher in Vienna. He began his career at the Arbeiterzeitung, and moved to Der Kurier after a year, where he was awarded the Renner Journalism Prize for his legal court coverage. In 1970, Oscar Bronner appointed him founding editor-in-chief of the magazine profil, which he ran for 18 years. Between 1990 and 1993, he was the publisher and editor-in -chief of the Wochenpresse Wirtschaftswoche, and from 1993 to 1996 he was co-editor-in-chief of the daily Der Standard. From 1997 to 2000, he held a professorship for journalism at the Danube University in Krems and later at the Journalism Academy in Vienna. Currently, he is a columnist for profil.
Lingens took lessons in poem recitation from the actress Elisabeth Orth and elocution lessons from Heiki Eis. He has recited Rilke for the radio programme 'Du holde Kunst'.
At the age of only 13, Eva Lingens already appeared with works of contemporary music in concert halls such as the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus or the Forum Stadtpark in Graz. On completing her piano training at the Conservatoire of the City of Vienna and her studies at the Faculty of Law of Vienna University, she initially pursued a legal career and subsequently ran a magazine publishing house. Once she had founded a second domicile in Spain, she resumed her activity as a pianist. She has held solo recitals in the Teatro Isabel la Católica in Granada, in the Teatro Calderón in Motril and in different concert halls in Málaga and Marbella.
The idea to produce a joint programme with her husband Peter Michael Lingens arose a number of years ago. Joint performances have taken place in St. Stephan's Cathedral in Vienna, in Schloss Gwandhaus in Salzburg and in Kufstein.
