An odd ball for Archipel as this techno album is a step outside the usual direction of the label. We are very excited to give room for this type of exploration and hope you can appreciate the different type of music we are also into.

SVHS is the solo work of Canada based Martin Dumais, leading figure of the vibrant Montreal electronic scene. Either as a DJ and booker at early 90’s techno nights of infamous the Foufounes Electriques club, or with his pre-internet labels Haute Couture and Hautec, starting point of many luminaries, including his own award winning globetrotting ravers Les Jardiniers crew, alongside close collaborators Dj Champion and Akufen.
Since 2005, with partner Julie Leblanc under ambient industrial guise AUN (Important Records, Denovali, Cyclic Law), he as performed in now over 25 countries. Playing festivals of diverse musical spectrums, namely: Mutek (ca) Heart of Noise (at) Fimav (ca) Roadburn (nl) Wave Gothic (de) Phobos (de) Droneburg (de)
On this first SVHS release, he bends long established codes to better dissociate from traditions. Pulling from his own experience in 80’s tape culture, 90’s industrial and left field techno, ‘Bong Zero’ is a trip into a future past of soothing glitch laden twist and turns.
Live A/V performance focuses on analog groove, using modular audio-video synthesis and VHS tape static worship rituals.
He also creates as one half of Industrial Techno duo Stärker (Hospital Productions, Zhark Recordings Berlin, Concrete, Total Black ), plays guitar in experimental drone trio Ghidrah and produces a monthly mix show on web radio La face B.
