Sabino de Bari - Lo racconta il mare (2021)

Sabino de Bari an Italian composer and guitarist based in London. I have graduated in composition cum laude and in classical guitar. I am passionate about developing my technical musical skills and theoretical knowledge, and achieving the next level of success.

My composition “Nubi”, for string orchestra, has received the honorable mention at the “Premio Sinopoli” 2017 composition competition while my composition “Gloucester” for orchestra has won the third prize of the “Premio Abbado” composition competition (2015 Edition).

My music has been performed in Italy, England, France, Austria, Spain, China and Mexico.

I have released the CD “Pas de Chat” (2010) for solo guitar, “Voices” (2012) for ensemble (DODICILUNE Edizioni). Among other collaborations as a guitarist and a composer, I have contributed to the realization of the album “On the cloud” by Diana Torti (SLAM PRODUCTIONS).

I have published the guitar piece “Valse des Troix Oisons” which has been included in the “14 Selected Pieces By New Composers” collection, presented by Leo Brouwer for the “Roberto Fabbri Signature Series” (Ed. Carisch).

As a performer, I am also interested in improvisation. I have been performing concerts as a soloist as well as playing in an ensemble and I have been involved in several international music festivals and contexts.

As an educator, I have been teaching in various music institutes including at Birmingham Royal Conservatoire and as visiting tutor at Trinity Laban (London) and Frosinone Conservatoire (Italy). I recently published my guitar method for children “The sounds of the guitar” where creative skills, as well as performing skills, are taught through exciting original pieces of music which include extended techniques for a fun approach to music learning.
