Dakila - Dakila (Reissue) (1972/2014)

The only album by a San Francisco-based group composed primarily of Filipino expatriates. They started out as "Soul Sacrifice", but with the arrival of David Bustamante they changed the name to "Dakila". The album was recorded at San Mateo and released by Epic Records in 1972. A minimum of vocals, a maximum of bongos, kongs, fiery Hammond, amazing guitar and intricacies of downhill solos. In short, worthy followers of the Santana cause. The group disbanded in 1973, but exactly 40 years later, David Bustamante has assembled a new line-up (along with two original members - Romeo Bustamante and Frank Magtoto) and continues to play concerts in California.
