Christina Lux has become an indispensable part of the German singer-songwriter scene. Since 1998, the Karlsruhe native has been releasing her albums at regular intervals and tirelessly touring up and down the country. Her album Leise Bilder was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize in 2018. In the process, she has gained a loyal fan base that has enthusiastically followed the step taken in 2018, towards the German language. For it is above all her lyrics that give her music, which playfully combines folk, jazz, world and pop elements, a great touchability.

LICHTBLICKE is now the second German-language album and it delivers even more than the title promises. It's hopeful, colourful and deeply contemplative lyrics embedded in sounds that take a wide berth to all that needs to be heard and said. Once again she has written and produced this album together with her companion Oliver George (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys).

She herself says about the making of the album: "We were able to make good use of the time without gigs and continue writing and recording despite the strange emptiness that spread through me during the time without concerts. And Lichtblicke stands for me for all these magical moments in the middle of this madness that is raging everywhere. Most of the tracks were recorded in our small Luxuriant Studio in Cologne. It was unusual for me to realize songs directly as studio versions. Usually I first go on stage with new songs to let them grow. This time I didn't do that with a good part of the songs. The immediacy of the concert is unique and I love it. Recreating that feeling of communication and immediacy in the studio takes a lot more time for me. But in the end, working in my own studio, I was able to work on the songs again and again without any time pressure, so I could watch them grow "on tape". For mixing & mastering we went again to Klaus Genuit in the Hansahausstudio Bonn. I have been working with Klaus since the first EP in 1998 and he is a multiple Grammy winner. He is one of those sound people who, with high musicality and a fine ear, achieve a transparency and dynamic in the sound that is tremendously important for my music.

Further special bright spots are set by the wonderful guests on the album: Tokunbo (Ins Licht - vocals), Marius Goldhammer (Wie Tief - bass), Soul (Was zählt für Dich, True Self - bass) Bernd Delbrügge and Ebasa Pallada (Sing Laut - saxophone, trumpet) Anne de Wolff (Ins Licht - strings) Axel Steinbiss (True Self, Ins Licht - piano & organ)

Written and produced by Christina Lux & Oliver George (drums, keys, guitars, vocals)
Sound: Klaus Genuit, Hansahausstudio Bonn (multiple Grammy winner)

"Lux goes deeper, opens up, becomes touchable, nestled in folk, jazz and pop. Play tip: "How Deep," a refugee story told with all due respect." (Good Times, December 2021/January 2022)
