I feel like the idea behind this album needs describing. It starts with a traditional carol that would seem to have nothing to with Brahms (but maybe it does? Could it have been a favorite of his?) Then follows piece very plausible as Christmas music, a piece moderately so, then...one of the Hungarian Dances? It's very much a mix of pieces of greatly varying plausibility as Christmas music, leaning toward the implausible side. So...as I said...some explanation is needed.
