If you haven’t yet fallen head over heels for Shane Gamble, then you’re about to.
A Maryland native, Shane embodies what it means to be a working musician. He strums endlessly on his guitar and exposes the depths of his soul during every performance - all with a voice that sounds like it was dipped in molasses and then hung out on the clothesline.
In 2014, Shane enjoyed a Billboard Country “Heatseeker” with his single, “Beautiful Work,” a pop/country song that is equal parts punchy and poignant. Thanks, in part, to the groundbreaking Sirius XM country music channel, “The Highway,” for taking his first breakout single “Turn My Way” to #1, and selling over 200,000 Copies Shane has been able to crash the Nashville party as an independent artist, garner new fans across the globe and make a splash within the music industry crowd.
Now, Shane is back with his much-anticipated sophomore effort, American Heart -12 tracks that showcase his rare ability to seamlessly blend Country, Rock, Pop and Americana. Shane spent nearly two years perfecting the songs on American Heart, co-writing lyrics with heavy hitting Nashville players like Derric Ruttan, Andrew Dorf and Zac Molloy. In studio, Gamble worked closely with Rick Beato, who not only produced “Turn My Way,” but is also credited with tracked by Needtobreathe, Shinedown and Charlie Mars, as well as Parmalee’s number one hit, “Carolina.”
Shane has come along way since his humble roots in rural Maryland, and shows no signs of slowing down. He remembers vividly when he slept in his car on lunch breaks while working as a substitute teacher. “I was playing shows at night, sometimes 300 to 400 miles away, somehow I’d pull it together to teach during the day. Now I can sing about those trying times”.
Take one look at Shane - tousled hair, a worn denim shirt and leather boots, an acoustic guitar slung across his shoulders – and you know that he believes in what music can do to the mind and the spirit. Shane attacks his acoustic guitar with remarkable energy and sings from the depths of his soul with earnest conviction.
This passion runs throughout American Heart. It’s an album that finds him combining radio-friendly boot-stompers with acoustic ballads – all of which resonate with Nashville Cats and New York City Hipsters alike. While expertly polished, the album takes nothing away from the intimacy and warmth that make Shane’s music so appealing. “You know it’s not about perfection, at least not sonic perfection,” shares Shane. “I’m trying to capture something unique. I want somebody to hear my music and have it be something they’ve never heard before. I want it to stand the test of time.”
