Prince - Stockholm, Are You Hip To The Funk? [2CD] (2007)

Sourced from the original Superhero 'City Lights : Stockholm 86' release this is a nice re-working of a classic bootleg. Whereas the original Superhero release was a mono recording, this Free Boot Generation release features the tag of "stereo enhanced" and whilst many of us (myself included) couldn't tell the difference between a mono recording and a stereo recording, it's immediately obvious that this is far superior than the original. The sound is far sharper, much clearer and more powerful. Gone is the slight dullness of the Superhero release and it now sounds fresh and "new" - for want of a better word. The show is probably known to most people by now so the less I say about it the better. It's a fairly typical European Parade show with the addition of a portion of 'Electric Man' added to 'Head' being the only real point worth noting. That said, the performance is what makes the show so enjoyable and it's one of the better from the tour. A nice updated release of a classic bootleg in improved quality.
