Dave Braulick grew up on the southwest coast of Oregon in a small town called Coos Bay. His love of music started at a young age. The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, John Lee Hooker and Johnny Winter were just a few of his influences. When Jimi Hendrix hit the scene that was it. Dave is self taught, learning the guitar by ear. He learned by jamming with others, paying close attention to his heroes and perfecting his style. By the time he was out of high school he was on his way.
Dave moved to Hawaii and honed his craft on the islands for 8 years. He returned to the mainland and began playing in various rock bands, mainly touring the Pacific Northwest. Years later Dave really came into his own, writing and producing his first CD " Sevens " in 2003. Dave's song " Coming Back To Me " off the Sevens CD was featured on the Oasis Blues CD Sampler. It also enjoyed some airplay on the East Coast radio stations. Dave did have the pleasure of being an opening act for one of his hero's, the late great, John Lee Hooker. There was a cool quote that read " Dave really rips it up when he flexes his guitar muscle" !
After Sevens, Dave started to collaborate with Blues/Rock singer and keyboard player Nola Boice. Out of this musical relationship came his second recording effort. The CD " Inner Truth " in 2004 came forward from the band they had formed called Icelick. The song " Have We Forgotten" went on to win an international song award from Artists Helping Artists in Los Angeles, California.
As all things change Dave made his way to Arizona to live in the sun. Dave continued to play in Icelick and then The Soul Healers Band when it became time for him to branch back out on his own. Dave has stuck with his roots mainly in Blues and Blues/Rock but has also added some Ballads and some Freeform guitar work to his arsenal.
Dave was also a first round winner in the Guitar Center "King of the Blues" guitar contest in Phoenix Arizona.
Dave's new 2013 release " A Thousand Horses " is an exciting CD!
With a mixture of Blues, Ballads and Freeform instrumentals, this CD will not disappoint! Dave has truly taken his gifts of songwriting and smoking guitar licks to a whole new level. As Dave says " This is music that moves you, music that heals you, music that is meant to be ".
