Mr Twin Sister - Al Mundo Azul (2021) Hi-Res

The more the years go by, the more Mr. Twin Sister gets to gain ground. We left the New York group in 2018 with their phenomenal album called Salt showing their rise to power. This year, they return to strike hard with their long-awaited successor by the name of Al Mundo Azul.

Here, Mr. Twin Sister confirms their turn towards the dancefloor. It is by drawing their inspiration from disco that the New York group will confirm that they know how to broaden their palette as they see fit. And it is with feverish and deceptively kitsch titles such as “Fantasy” which launches hostilities that we have to deal with before reoffending with the explosive “Expressions” with irresistible synthetic layers and which is halfway between Chic and Fever Ray but also "Carmen" and "Beezle". It's a long way from the era of "Meet The Frownies".

This is also the opportunity for Mr. Twin Sister to present his novelties, namely Andrea Estella who definitely tries her hand in Spanish especially on the epileptic "Polvo" where she denigrates the grotesque side of humanity. We will also detect some dub sounds in particular on "The Pine Tree" before returning to the dancefloor with "Diary" and "Despoil". After swaying their hips, the time has come for lull with the dreamlike slow-jam that is the title track once again performed in Spanish showing that they can come back to the source whenever they want. With Al Mundo Azul, Mr. Twin Sister's disco turn is done with efficiency and will raise the temperatures in our cottages.
