Andy Gregg - High Hopes (2021)

Daisytown native and country music singer/songwriter Andy Gregg doesn’t want to be lumped in with today’s country music stars.
Eschewing the mainstream tendencies of modern country music, Gregg channels the old-school sounds of legends Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson on his just-released second album “High Hopes.”
“A lot of modern country is rock based, with distortion on the guitar,” said Gregg, a 2003 California Area High School graduate. “With traditional country, I appreciate the storytelling. The main difference, in my eyes, is song content. Modern country music seems like they’re all trying to sell you something.”
