Felix’s impassioned F minor quartet was the fiercely personal response to his sister’s death in 1847, only a few months before his own. The Takács Quartet frame it with equally committed accounts of a much earlier work, and Fanny’s own important contribution to the genre.

They want to go back to Decca era, tight ensemble ?
Their Violist changed 3 times, this Richard O’Neill is 4th, début to them.
3rd Geraldine Walther was odd for them or just retirement age ?
Hyperion sound is exquisite though :))
Thanks

And? Other than proving yourself a right know-all how does this help Olga?

@Reg Ester
Thank you for feedback ^.^
This impression is different from their other Hyperion recordings and closer to Decca recordings, then I checked members :p
Richard O’Neill already released some albums as a soloist but I prefer mellow harmony with Geraldine Walther :)
