Description
More than 15 years earlier Herbie Mann was among the first Americans to record in Brazil with local musicians and really explore bossa nova at its roots. In 1978 for this LP he performed music of contemporary Brazil with a bigger accent on its pop music than on its jazz. With Pat Rebillot contributing arrangements and his keyboard work, the music is listenable but somewhat forgettable. ~ Scott Yanow
