Tenor-great Dexter Gordon sounds fine on these four extended performances ("Gingerbread Boy," "Blues A La Suisse," "Some Other Spring" and "Secret Love") which (with the exception of the six-minute "Some Other Spring") clock in between ten and 15 minutes apiece. The rhythm section (Hampton Hawes on electric piano, electric bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Kenny Clarke) is not as attuned to Gordon's music as one would hope (the electronics do not really blend in well), making this a somewhat average (but still fairly enjoyable) bop session.~ Scott Yanow
