Malted Milk - Riding High (2021) Hi-Res

From the meeting between a modern revisit of the universe of Curtis Mayfield and the Gainsbourian bass from the track "Skeptical", to the lead voice of the soul ballad "Trust me in the morning" as a nod to Aaron Frazer, through the ethereal and intimate atmosphere of "I wanna go home" and finally to the shining brass of the track "Let me ride", evocation of the Staples Singers and the soul of Memphis, the group demonstrates its creativity as well as its great mastery of arrangements and sound textures resulting from collective work.

By adding Marco Cinelli to the writing, this new opus tackles themes based on skin-deep sensitivity such as for example the post-confinement exultation on "Let me ride" or the specter of a dying relationship on " I wanna go home "but also a certain lightness, like the tender gaze on her teenage offspring in" Barely Legal ".

Written and composed during confinement, Malted Milk's new EP undeniably reflects the need to find an escape in everyday life. "Riding High" makes us live the daydream of someone who decides to give up everything, leaving their daily life and their problems behind.
