The Violet Original Score Sessions contains music we (VUM) produced by for Violet the film (SXSW 2021, TIFF 2021). A curated selection of tracks we wrote during the making of the film - some of which are in the film and some of which are conceptually tied to the film’s themes, woven together into an instrumental tapestry of synths, guitars and analog echoes.
“I recall one of my first conversations with Justine where she discussed the concept of the voice - the inner critic and editing force that prevents us from operating outside of the confines of our own fears. It wasn't until I had this conversation when I realized that I had this same critical voice running in my head. Constantly. My voice had become such a naturalized part of my everyday experience that I didn't know it was there. It was this tension that we (VUM) explored in our composing for the film.” -Jennifer Pearl /VUM
