winner of the national competition for guitar teaching, he is professor at the Conservatory "Alfredo Casella" in L’Aquila.
He was born in Rome in 1958. In 1984 he brilliantly graduated in “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome.
He emerged in guitar competition ad, as a winner of scholarships, followed upgrading cuorses by Alirio Diaz, Josè Tomàs, Eliot Fisk, Josè Luis Rodrigo.
Interested in Baroque works, he studied them in depth with the harpsichordist Anna Maria Pernafelli.
In 1983 he founded the Trio Chitarristico di Roma, whose current members are Fabio Renato D’Ettorre, Marco Cianchi and Fernando Lepri himself. With this group, with several chamber music ensemble and as soloist with orchestra, he has played extensively both in Italy and abroad (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Algeria, France, Switzerland, Poland).
He has taken part in broadcasts produced by RAI, Mediaset other private televisions; he has recorded for the Vatican Radio and for the national German, Bulgarian, Austrian and Tunisian Radios.
He has published more than thirty CDs, critical editions, and didactic works.
He has recorded six CDs with the Rome Guitar Trio; among these there are three CDs for the musikstrasse label: “Recital”, “Rara musica del Novecento”, “Parade” and "30th year" for the thirtieth anniversary of the Trio for the DotGuitar label.
For the label-Edipan Guitart has recorded as a soloist, trio and quartet, a CD with Teresa Procaccini’s complete works for guitar and, in 2018. he is one of the nine guitarists protagonists of the double Cd "Italian Exellence" published by Roma Expo Guitars.
In 2019 he received the prestigious Golden Guitar for promotion by the Scientific Committee of the International Guitar Conference.
Beyond his artistic merits, he has been always interested in teaching guitar: he’s the artistic director and founder of “Accademia Nova”, a music school awarded by the City of Rome.
He has taught music subjects in public schools, has promoted and taught in four national guitar courses authorized by the Ministry of Public Education, and has held several masterclasses.
He taught "Methodology of Teaching the Guitar" at the Music Institute "Mascagni" in Livorno and the Conservatory "Respighi" in Latina and is the author of educational publications such as the new edition of “Fondamenti di Chitarra”, a guitar method written with Arturo Tallini for Rugginenti Editore.
He has also edited publications for Berben, Ricordi, Melbay, Guitart, Rugginenti, A.f.M, Semar, Edipan, Bixio-Cemsa/Carisch. Among them there are the critical edition and recording of guitar concertos with orchestra by Rodrigo, Vivaldi, and Carulli, as well as Vivaldi’s and Boccherini’s chamber works.
