American Cream Band - Dark Hemisphere (2021)

American Cream Band is a psych/experimental collective fronted by Nathan Nelson out of Minnesota. The large group lived together for 3 buzzing days, cycling collaborators in and out to record the otherworldly haze of “Dark Hemisphere.” The sound is eclectic and electric; full of deep bass, saxophone, synth, organ, all manners of percussion, vocals and guitar. The tunes meander between motorik-infused grooves, dreamy psych noise pop and atmospheric slow burns. Nathan describes the album as “pushing out into a deep dark sea of electrical insanity and finding a way back”. It’s a powerful record about discovering the shore with only the lighthouse as your guide.
