Wing Pinger is one of the first releases on PLAYNEUTRAL, which is a new label publishing contemporary music by exploratory artists. The first four releases are by Stephen Vitiello/Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Machinefabriek, Aidan Baker, and myself.
I decided to take a strictly minimal approach to this release and embrace the creative possibilities of just one instrument, the Meng Qi Wing Pinger, which is an extraordinary creative tool. It allows you to move between chaos and control with the tiniest movement of the dials, and perform on the keyboard at the same time. I hope you will enjoy this reductive ambient release.
