It is thanks to the creation of the Adraiad called 'l'Eve future' that Thomas Edison saves the young Lord Ewald from despair, dangerously in love with a young singer whose beauty is only equalled by her stupidity. Such is the rationale of l'Eve future by Auguste de Villiers de l'Isle Adam, published in 1886. The work is presented as a literary kaleidoscope: simultaneously a tale of science fiction, a romantic novel, an autobiographical story, a fantastic fairytale, a questioning philisophical treatise and an ironic pamphlet, it surprises, intrigues and seduces with its scope, complexity and depth. Indeed, enough material in one literary work upon which to base an entire musical season: the 2020-2021 season for the Orchestre de Caen, a season in which the concert dedicated to Prometheus was one of the high points.
