Sean Webster is the frontman guitar vocalist for the 3 piece band with a fast-growing reputation on the British Blues and rock scene. Founded in June of 2003, theirs is a sound that comprises a sharp sense of song writing and a strong feel for the contemporary blues rock of the current era. The band is the brainchild of Sean Webster, whose performing career began at the age of fourteen in Nottingham, when, as part of his school band, he played various functions and charity gigs in the city. Later, Sean was part of the band "Journeymen" and performed commercial blues / rock covers around the country for four years, before forming the band "Stateside" at the end of the nineties and continuing to gig constantly.
Eventually frustrated simply by playing cover versions, Sean was inspired to start writing his own material - a move which led to the current line-up of musicians. 2004 was a big year for Sean, as he released the debut album "Long Time Coming". This put the band in the public eye for the first time, and showcased Sean’'s fine guitar playing, which combines the influences of Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, Dave Gilmour and Joe Satriani. His vocal style has drawn comparisons with Joe Cocker, Bryan Adams and Jonny Lang.
Britain’'s leading blues magazine "Blues Matters!" has described the debut album as "A real gem", concluding that Sean was: "... set for big stages with superb guitar work... They'll soon be bursting out of the Nottingham area now Sean has got his writing shoes on."
Indeed, the brand new, Webster-penned track, "Hero", is included on a Blues Matters! compilation disc. 2005 has seen the band perform many live dates around the U.K. including the main stage at Burnley Festival.
Having already made an impressive appearance in the Crown Hotel at the prestigious Great British R&B Festival in Colne in August 2004, 2005 will see the band close the afternoon session on the International Stage at the same Festival, this showing their marked improvement over the last year.
Sean Webster and his band are set to build on their successful first year and take the UK scene by storm. Check their new album - "If Only" (Blues Matters - BMR CD 20051) - the great songs collection. This album is recorded by: Sean Webster (guitars and vox), Mark Evans (guitars), Tom Latham (bass) and KJ Rollins (drums).
