Morry Sochat & The Special 20s - Dig In (2015)

This CD marks the 10 year anniversary of Morry Sochat & The Special 20s. It has a been a great 10 years. The band is stronger than ever right now and moving forward full steam ahead. We went into the studio to record this Dig In on February 1st, 2015. Chicago got blanketed by 19 inches of snow that day. We hunkered down in the studio for the next 5 days and laid this down.

The CD was produced by Tim Bluhm from The Mother Hips. Tim is a good friend of the band and his expertise was invaluable. Tim follows in the shoes of Jimmy Sutton and Nick Moss in producing CDs for The Special 20s. All of them have left their mark on the CD the produced.

Dig In is a mix of blues, rock n' roll and rhythm and blues songs that are just like a Special 20s show. They are very diverse songs, yet similar in their vintage feel. The CD rocks and then swings and then simmers. Sochat wrote 7 of the songs on the CD. Chris Neal who played saxophone on Eatin' Dirt, our last CD, brought in two great original songs leads the singing on both. Sochat and Neal sing together on the two classic covers "The Honeydripper" and "Last Time".
