Hiromi Uehara, a pianist who runs the world, is the first new work in two years under the name of the new project "Hiromi Uehara The Piano Quintet". With an ambitious organization of piano and string quartet, it was unveiled for the first time as part of the live project "SAVE LIVE MUSIC" series at Blue Note Tokyo (December 28, 2020 to January 4, 2021), and was praised by the crowd. I took a bath.
This project includes songs released in his own SNS project "One Minute Portrait", including the four-part suite "Silver Lining Suite" written during the period of self-restraint of Corona in 2020. Newly arranged and recorded for.
With a string quartet led by Tatsuo Nishie, the concertmaster of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the sometimes delicate and sometimes dynamic performances show off a fresh Hiromi Uehara sound that is a bit different from previous works. As a pianist and a composer and arranger, this work proves that we have reached a higher level.
