Hot Rod Lincoln has been voted “Best Roots Rock and Roll Band” at the San Diego Music Awards five times in a row. They have released five original CD’s in the U.S. and overseas. Their 1998 release titled “Blue Café” won “Best Local Recording” at the San Diego Music Awards in 1997. Brian Setzer, of the Stray Cats and currently with the Brian Setzer Orchestra wrote the title track for the “Blue Café” album. Their 2006 release titled, “Runaway Girl”, was nominated for “Best Americana Album” at the San Diego Music Awards 2007.

Buzz Campbell, founder of HRL, was the lead guitarist from 2002-2005 for Sha-na-na; the group that performed at Woodstock in 1969, had their own TV series from 1975 to 1981, and was featured in the cult classic movie, “Grease”. Buzz Campbell is currently the lead guitarist for Lee Rocker, bass player of the Stray Cats and played on the Lee Rocker band’s CD release titled, “Racin’ the Devil” He is also on “Black Cat Bone”, Lee’s latest release. Buzz wrote “Blue”, sung by singing legend Pat Boone, on Shanana’s latest CD titled, “One More Saturday Night” along with “I Wanna Rock and Roll for Xmas” on their Christmas CD released in 2005.

Hot Rod Lincoln is currently on their largest tour yet as the support act for the Stray Cats Farwell Europe Tour this August 2008. They will be performing for sellout crowds of 5000-8000 in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Amsterdam, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. By the end of this tour, the band will have been seen and heard by over 100,000 people.
