Vybz is undoubtedly Savant's most mellow, thought-provoking album to date. Making a departure from the heavy dubstep & complextro styles, this album will 'vex' fans who expected an EDM album, and delight those who adore Savant's earlier work style from 2008-2011.
The only true hard-hitters on the album are 'Boss', 'Troll' and of course 'Alive', a tune with eyes set on destroying the dance floor.
Mind you, the album is full of the 8bit synths and soothing melodies we all know and love Savant for. Reminiscent of the playful and unpredictable nature of 2015's Invasion, 'Vybz' sounds as if it may be as its chill flip side.
The production is top notch, as Savant delves further into perfecting his sound design and experimenting with advanced reverb & panning techniques.
Ideal for those cold days by the fire, Vybz is a record that really has quite a deep meaning to it, and it's certainly a journey of an album that grows on you the more you listen to it.
A really nice change in Savant's discography, Vybz brings all new diversity to the plate that makes for a record that is relaxing yet uplifting.
