Laura Jansen - We Saw A Light (2021) [CD Rip]

Laura Jansen (born 4 March 1977, Breda, North Brabant) is a Dutch singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. She established herself as a regular at the Los Angeles live music venue the Hotel Cafe before gaining fame in her native country, The Netherlands. The daughter of an American mother and Dutch father, she holds dual citizenship in the United States and The Netherlands.

Her music has been featured on the television shows Newport Harbor and The Real World: Cancun.

She toured with Joshua Radin for six weeks as part of his band in 2008. In 2009, she toured with William Fitzsimmons as a part of his band and also as his support act.

In the Netherlands, her debut album "Bells" is available on Universal Records. Released on 4 September 2009, the album reached #2 on iTunes pop charts in the Netherlands.

In the U.S., she has two self released EP albums, "Trauma," (released 26 February 2007) and "Single Girls" (released 26 June 2009).

Met het imposante We Saw A Light maakt Laura Jansen zeven jaar na haar album Elba haar rentree in de muziekwereld. Zeven jaar die haar langs hoge pieken en diepe dalen lieten scheren en die een nieuw album helemaal niet zo vanzelfsprekend hebben gemaakt. De tien nummers op het door Ed Harcourt geproduceerde We Saw A Light voelen dan ook als een emotionele achtbaan, waarin de luisteraars worden meegevoerd van de vluchtelingenkampen op Lesbos tot de desolate straten van een winters Berlijn. "Ik wist oprecht niet of ik nog wel een album in me had. Ik wist niet eens of ik überhaupt nog wel muziek kon maken", aldus Laura Jansen, die in 2009 doorbrak met haar debuutalbum Bells en hits scoorde met singles als SingleGirls, Use Somebody en Wicked World.
