This skillful manner is the product of a career that, so far, is actually a rather short one. As a youngster in her home town of Springboro, Pennsylvania, Marlene made the usual round of early demonstrations of musical ability, playing piano and singing occasionally on local radio and television, and with small dance bands; playing organ in her church, and, after high school, appearing at summer resorts and various night spots.
And now comes this album Marlene Cord's recording debut Here she graduates suddenly into an upper rank of singers, displaying a distinctive vocal style that promises bright and eventful days to come Here she exhibits a wise way with some wonderful tunes, and it’s a pleasure to hear.
