Singer, songwriter and radio personality Dallas Wayne pays tribute to classic country music every day on his show on the SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel Willie’s Roadhouse. “The seed to record this album was planted while doing my radio show,” said Dallas. “When I’m on the air, I find myself saying that somebody oughta cut these great classic songs again.”
Now Dallas has done just that with his new album 'Songs The Jukebox Taught Me'. And with a fresh sound and pristine production, he makes this collection of country standards his own, while still being true to the classic country sound. “After ten albums of mostly original material, I've chosen to honor some of the heroes and teachers who taught me this music,” said Dallas. “I'm humbled to have as very special guests on the album some of my personal heroes and friends: Willie Nelson, Jeannie Seely, Darrell and Mona McCall, and Paula Nelson. I hope listeners enjoy the new record as much as we enjoyed making it.”
“When I was learning how to sing, play and write country music in the mid-60s and into the 70s, this was the popular music of that time; the era that taught me to love country music,” said Dallas. “This collection of songs captures a moment
in time in country music when production values had advanced and become more sophisticated, and songcraft – the art of blending melody and lyric - was still king.”
Dallas is a singer, songwriter, radio DJ, voice-over artist, actor and music producer who has performed throughout North America and Europe for 40 years. He got his start in radio in 1989, drawing on his many years as a performer. He can be heard Monday through Friday on SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Willie’s Roadhouse (channel 59) and Outlaw Country (channel 60). In 2015, Dallas was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Disc Jockey Hall of Fame in Carthage, Texas.
Dallas Wayne resides in Austin, where he enjoys a vibrant music scene. In addition to his radio career and solo performances, he also performs with the legendary band Heybale! Follow Dallas on Facebook www.facebook.com/DallasWaynefanpage or visit www.dallaswayne.com.
