Miriam Netti - The Art of Jazz with Miriam Netti (2021)

The new album by Miriam Netti, the Italian singer, originally from Puglia but a naturalized Berliner, will be titled "The Art of Jazz". The disc, released on August 6, 2021, will contain a selection of 9 jazz pieces. Accompanying the artist in the project are drummer Anders Mogensen, pianist Ben Besiakov, both Danish, and Finnish Johnny Åman on double bass.

The artist told how the album was born in a completely random way. Netti was in the recording studio while she was recording her piece, the singer was then invited to sing a couple of pieces for Danish drummer Anders Mogensen's production. The cover art of the album also bears the artist's signature. With this work, the singer wanted to emphasize the connection between visual art and music of African American origins such as jazz. Both, according to Netti, tend to achieve total art, revealed through the immediacy with which this album was played and with which jazz in general is played.

"The Art of Jazz" is the third album by the Italian artist. In 2007 Miriam Netti presented her first work, with the title of the same name, at the Auditorium in Rome, with the collaboration of the Tweedle label. The artist's second effort, "La Bossa" released in 2016, collected ten major international hits, plus three original pieces, arranged through the rhythms and tones of Bossa Nova, all sung in Italian. Johan Leijonhufvud on guitar, Christoph Adams on piano and organ, Lars Gühlcke on double bass and Bruno Castellucci on drums also participated in the project.
