Smurphy - RIP SMURPHY FOREVER (2021)

Celebrating Sunday's summer solstice, I'm pleased to release my last productions as a THANK YOU and GOODBYE for you, my dear supporters, with all my heart, I'm stopping all activities related to Smurphy, FOREVER!!! 👽 Sometimes is proper to close cycles and move on, this is my time to stop making music in this format.

Some of you know that I live with a spinal birth defect that has caused injuries on my back and other joints, for this reason, working on computers has become more difficult, and my way of making music and Djing is basically based on computer work. New habits to adopt in order to have better health for the future are indispensable, this is the reason why I do not play any shows, and the reason why I'm saying goodbye to Smurphy.

I'm doing this release completely randomly and spontaneously for my fans only, you guys have made this possible and I wanna THANK YOU!

I'm launching a new career as an artist, my body really likes moving and interacting with matter, so I'm painting, doing ceramics, and other manual arts under the name Ileana Magoda (Ileana is my middle name, tho!)... so this album is also a sort of fundraiser for my new career since I'm not actively working as a musician or designer anymore, the artwork is one of my newest paintworks too!

This music represents a lot of changes, my whole belief system was crumbled during 2020, and while lockdown my body got the calling to working with clay, which opened up a Pandora box, this music is an expression of all those things that changed within me. Music is alchemy, my experience of creating this becomes your experience as a listener, and the original essence of the music transmutes to other places for life.

The change from non-material-music to material-visual-art is an interesting process, my body is definitely enjoying it a lot, which results in less pain! And I'm pretty sure I will make music again, just in a different way that now I don't know!
