Owen Denvir - Sticks, Stones & Bones (2021)

Back with the final installment of his imaginative EP trilogy now turned album, Owen Denvir has released his album Sticks, Stones & Bones.

The first EP, Sticks, was released in 2019, then, Stones, in 2020, and the final installment before the album completion of, Bones, was released in 2021.

“The album and EP trilogy idea is based on Sigmund Freud’s theory that personality is a sum of 3 parts: the Id (acting on raw impulse), the Ego (being terrified of consequences) and the Superego (the balance between the two),” Owen says about the album.

Sticks, dealt with delusion and loss and the impulsive decisions we make under the spell of love. Stones, has a confident take on love. And, Bones, finds a balance between the two showcasing a health relationship.

Opening with ‘Reckless’ it’s clear to see the infectious tone pulling the listener in from the first note while introducing them to what’s about to happen when the previously heard EP’s turn into an album.

With more tracks like the introspective ‘Ghost’, the upbeat ‘Stones from Paris, the fascinatingly re-playable ‘Like Nobody Can See’, and the catchy ‘Loud & Clear’, the collection of tracks create a beautiful storyline accompanied by haunting vocals that sends a shiver down the listeners spine while his lyrics appear poetic with deep reflection.

The 13-track album deals with loss and delusion, finding confidence but a brash brash take on love, and finding a balance between the two in search for a healthy relationship. Featuring a stunning collection of tunes that include well-strung words, engaging melodies, and soulful emotions that deliver the stories with elegance.

The instrumentation, overall, was weaved with excellence flourishing the breathtaking listen with masterful productions along with expressful emotions that stir the stories to life pulling on the heartstrings of the listener.

Owen is a diverse musician and with this particular album he has created tuneful tracks with cinematic pop authentic productions. His vocals are effortlessly sung with greatness that will make the listener want to dive into the album as a whole again.

Sticks, Stones & Bones, is an outstanding release with an intimate sound, nourishing storytelling, while showcasing his effortless musical talents to create a masterpiece.
