Holly Vincent, once of Holly & the Italians, returned to front the quartet the Oblivious with their 1993 release America. The collection of songs, all penned by Vincent, were also produced by her; she also added guitars and percussion. The result is an album's worth of tuneful power pop with melodies and hooks that require surgery to remove them from the brain after a single listen. "Crush" kicks things off with a frenetic guitar line and things never falter after that. The standout is "D.S.F.," a hard-charging track with an insistent chorus where Vincent asserts "I want you." Indigo Girl, and Daemon Records owner, Amy Ray makes an appearance on the moody, midtempo "Sleep."
