NEPHREN-KA is a french brutal-death metal band formed in 2006 and basing all of their lyrics on the work of Franck Herbert’s Dune. They have released three records: « Revenge and Supremacy », first self-released and then re-released via Great Dane Records, « The Fall of Omnius » with Kaotoxin Records, and « La Grande Guerre de L’Epice » with Dolorem Records in 2017.
The band plays Death Metal with their roots stemming as much from the second wave (Hate Eternal, Origin, Zyklon, Hour Of Penance, Angelcorpse) than from the first wave (Morbid Angel, Deicide, Immolation), sometimes even delving into Black Metal territory and always lyrically inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune cycle.
They are coming back in 2021 to release their 3rd album « From Agony to Transcendence » via the label Dolorem Records.
« From Agony to Transcendence » deals with plots and intrigues for the recovery of the Golden Lion’s throne based on the book « The Children of Dune », and the path that will lead Leto II to be the Emperor God of Dune.
Prepare to enter a world of betrayal and conspiracies.
