This excellent box set of Beethoven's complete Symphonies is a great introduction into his wonderful music. It is performed by the superb Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with six different conductors and recorded in glorious digital sound from the mid-nineties. (Plays in both CD and SACD players). I have seen one review saying that this box set contains only standard interpretations of the Beethoven Symphonies, but I would have to strongly disagree with that. The interpretations are special and the fine digital sound can only enhance them.
