Celloplay Quartet: Born in 2015 from the desire of four musicians who have known and worked together for years, in multiform musical contexts. A quartet of cellos to take advantage of the enormous tonal and expressive range that this instrument possesses.
The founding features of our group are the constant confrontation that does not become rivalry, the fruitful exchange to study together the interpretation and technique of the instrument; the desire to re-read the repertoire with a different eye, lively, curious and open to multiple stimuli.
The members of the quartet have traveled very different paths in terms of geographic origin, age, personal artistic path. This heterogeneity is life blood for the group: there are no teachers and students, there is no leader, there are no fixed roles, but a continuous exchange of ideas and suggestions.
This meeting has also stimulated the curiosity for music of all times and of all genres, trying to overcome the limits that are often imposed, to play all "beautiful" music, whatever genre it belongs to.
Thus the repertoire ranges from Bach to Piazzolla, from Purcell to Queen, from Vivaldi to Sollima, thus crossing all musical genres: from classical to rock, from pop to South American music.
The goal of the CelloPlayQuartet is to suggest the idea of a society where people of different backgrounds and generations can meet, live and work in harmony, convinced that everyone can enrich the other thanks to common intentions and ideals.
Musical language often performs these small miracles: a group of people of different origins and generations meet, working in harmony, sharing energies and experiences, can make a contribution, through the beauty of music, to improve our world.
